[IQ] Quaternary variations and future projection of climate and ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica

Scopes

Studies of past climate and ice sheet variations in polar regions provide clues to understanding the mechanisms of global climate changes and to improved projections of the future. In this session, climate and ice sheet variations in Greenland and Antarctica on various time scales during the Quaternary will be discussed, based on various paleoclimate archives such as ice cores, sea sediments, and modeling studies. Presentations on implications for future projections from paleoclimate studies are also welcomed.
