Job announcement for assistant professor position in the Center for Antarctic Programs

The National Institute of Polar Research, Japan, is seeking applicants for assistant professor position in the Center for Antarctic Programs. The candidate is expected to promote studies on oceanography in the Southern Ocean. The candidate is also expected to have knowledge of general oceanographic observations such as physics, chemistry, and biology in the polar region, including the sea ice area, and support research and coordination with the implementation plan of oceanographic observations of the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition. It is desirable to contribute to the development of polar oceanography and advance multidisciplinary cooperative research. For such expectation, high level Japanese language ability is needed.
