Good news for people who wish to come from far away!

Beginning in the current year, the Department of Polar Science is offering assistance with return travel expenses to people who wish to visit us. Anyone fulfilling the requirements below can apply for this assistance. Please contact us at an address or number below to take advantage of this offer.

Persons qualified for assistance

Persons must be considering enrolment in the department and wishing to visit us to inspect our labs, meet with academic staff, sit in on lectures or participate in events involving the department to be eligible. Assistance is provided only to people who do not have a residence within the 23 wards of Tokyo.

Notes

• Only one application for assistance per person is allowed, and assistance extends only to return travel costs.

• After it has been received, an application is assessed and a decision is made on whether to cover the return travel expenses. Please understand, however, that expenses may not be covered in some cases.

• Applications are accepted on a first come-first served basis, so when the budgeted funds for assistance are exhausted, applications will be closed.
