Start of oceanographic observations at Bering Sea / Observations on weather, wave height and drops - 2 (MIRAI Arctic cruise 2016: Theme 1)

After one week cruise, we arrived in the Bering Sea. It’s getting cold with a fall in temperatures below 10 degrees.

Various oceanographic observations are being conducted here in the Bering Sea from today. Scientists and technology staffs pick sea water and mud for investigations. As part of oceanographic observations are conducted at midnight, it is very hard work for us. However, we have a chance to see aurora if we work during the night.

We will go into the Arctic Ocean in a few days.
