The 1st Report Session on Expert Participation

The 1st Report Session on Expert Participation was held online on 6th September, 2021.
ArCS II is working on “Expert participation, providing information, and having dialogue to policy makers” as Priority Subject 2: “Strategic Dissemination of Arctic Information”. In the first half of the session, researchers who attended each working group of the Arctic Council (AC) in FY2020 reported on their meetings and shared information on the working groups’ activity trends and the latest developments. In the second half of the meeting, the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Program (AMAP) presented five summary reports for policy makers, which were published in May 2021 were introduced. These reports summarized the rapidly and drastically changing environment of the Arctic region, the problems it faces, and the issues that need to be addressed. The key points that deserve special attention were introduced with explanations by researcher who have been attending the AMAP meetings.
